The Law Office of Wendy L. Hart
Family Law Attorney Serving Mansfield, TX
Family Law Attorney Wendy Hart is proud to serve the residents of Mansfield. If you live in Mansfield, you know why it’s a great place to live. South of Arlington and between Fort Worth and Dallas, it’s the quieter suburb with access to both cities. It’s the DFW suburb that’s a great place to raise a family. Mansfield is noteworthy for being one of the top school districts in Lone Star State. Its diverse population and family-oriented vibes attract people from around the DFW area as well as the rest of Texas. Voted by Niche.com as one of the best places to live in Texas, and ranked #67 as one of the best suburbs to raise a family, Mansfield’s population is less than 75,000. About 75% of Mansfield residents own their homes, and it’s comparable to other suburbs in the DFW metro area. This part of Texas is evolving from a rural area into a comfortable, friendly suburb. Earlier this year, Texas-based grocery chain HEB announced plans for a new store in Mansfield, at the corner of US 287 and Broad Street.
History
Originally settled in the early 1850s, Mansfield experienced inbound migration from throughout the US. Nestled south of the branches of the Trinity River, Mansfield experienced growth after Julien Feild and Ralph Sandiford Mann purchased 540 acres of local land to build and found their grist mill and a general merchandise store. The company sold their flour and meal to the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, with shipments headed for Shreveport, LA, and Jefferson City, MO. Naming the town after the two founders, it was first known as “Mansfeild.” The small community became prosperous, and eventually became known as “Mansfield” by the time it was incorporated in 1909.

Oliver Nature Park and the Katherine Rose Memorial Park, a former pecan orchard that has become one of Mansfield’s favorite parks. Named after one of the city’s founders, Julian Feild Park is a nine-acre neighborhood park that includes a playground, a picnic area, walking trails, and a “quiet area” called Serenity Gardens.
